cms81586 0 Posted January 9, 2003 I just downloaded version 1.90 and went to play to discover that when i shoot, I get very little or no gunfire sound. Is this a problem with the upgrade or can something be adjusted to cure the problem? If it is not fixable, is there a way to downgrade to version 1.85 without downloading the whole thing? SOme Creative drivers do introduce the muffled sound problem.
cms81586 0 Posted January 9, 2003 I forgot to mention I am playing on OFP resistance. I tried messing with it and it seems that everything sounds normal except in full auto. Single and burst work fine. The M60 machinegunner has no problems on full auto either. I think its just on addons I downloaded but they worked fine earlier before I upgraded from 1.75 to 1.90. bn880 5 Posted January 9, 2003 Ahh, that, I have it too, I don't give a hoot at this point, but you might.
cms81586 0 Posted January 9, 2003 The problem is only with the player, not the AI. It's driving me nuts and I have no idea what it could be because everything else works fine.
cms81586 0 Posted January 9, 2003 Okay now I finally have an idea what could be causing the distorted sound. When I fire up into the sky it sounds normal but when i fire onto ground where there are more graphics, it fires too fast! It is firing so fast that all i hear is the first tiny bit of the sound before it starts over again. Is there any way to slow this down?
theavonlady 2 Posted January 9, 2003 What are your system specs? What motherboard do you have? Sound card? Video card? Latest drivers for all these?
cms81586 0 Posted January 9, 2003 I'll give my system specs later today when I get back home but its an AMD Athlon 1800+ processor so it is fast enough. I have one question though. Are the Flashpoint 1985 Campaign 1.90 upgrade and the Red Hammer 1.90 upgrade needed if I am running OFP Resistance. Could that be the problem?

cms81586 0 Posted January 9, 2003 Ok, im running : AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 200/266 Mhz AMD Athlon front side bus 512 MB PC 133 RAM 64 MB Sis VGA Video Adapter 128-bit AGP Graphics Accelerator AC97' 3D Audio Enhanced Sound Card 52X CDRW Ill try downloading those two upgrades. theavonlady 2 Posted January 10, 2003 I would also play around with your sound card's hardware acceleration setting. Try disabling it or maximizing it (under Windows Control Panel - not under OFP's OPTIONS menu) and see if that resolves the problem.

cms81586 0 Posted January 14, 2003 Yeah. Its wierd how the sound comes back when you shoot into the sky but when ya shoot at the ground its messed up. O well. Hopefully a new patch will solve this problem. Is everyone having this problem? If not, please post your specs. I wonder if downloading the file again will help.
