Playing opflash through a network

Recommended Posts

Ok i've searched and searched but my questions havent been answered.

I am running ADSL via PPPoA (frame method) and i can join MP games fine IF! internet connection sharing is NOT on. If it is on when i load into a game it will stop at Wait for server. So in other words we cannong play opflash using ICS. We are also not on a firewall, although a network acts as a firewall doesnt it? One time we had it going but only one of us could connect at one time. The PC that shares the internet ip is 192.168.0.1, and the other PC has an automatic ip.

Welcome to the OFP Community!

Depending on the version of OFP you have and what you are trying to do (join or host a game), you may be able to get OFP to work with Internet Connection Sharing.

Go visit The AvonLady's Unofficial OFP FAQ and search for "ICS", or provide more details on what your system setup is like and what you are trying to do.

AvonLady, don't make me recommend that people stay away from your FAQ! biggrin.gif

He hasn't fully explained what he wants to do and what his system setup is, but if he wants to simply join a server from behind XP ICS for instance, he should be able to get it to work, especially if he uses the DirectPlay implementation. Hosting and non-XP ICS are another story...

By the way, the Microsoft Knowledgebase Article referenced in your FAQ seems to have been permanently removed. The closest thing to the old article is this one.
