Whoami88 0 Posted December 31, 2002 Ive heard that sound packs cause lag in multiplayers games. is this true?
ralphwiggum 6 Posted December 31, 2002 what you are asking might be customized sounds, not sound pack. if you have customized sound, you'll have to send that file to everyone's PC in the game, and if the sound file is big, it takes up bandwidth. so that probably would cause lag in some sense. unsually, when talking about sound mods(modifications), it's about sound file improvements by users like Satchel's Dynamic Range, Battle sounds and etc.. some ppl want more realistic sounds than the one OFP has. there are some around, and they only run on your PC, so no problem. ralphwiggum 6 Posted December 31, 2002 there are several. i don't any preference. there's Satchel's Dynamic range. and Battlesounds.(if i remember correctly, click on forum member Suchey's sig) you just have to look for it. maybe ofp.info might have some in their section somewhere.
