O F pref.'s & cpu benchmark result

Recommended tuning suggestions & cpu  #

I am interested in who has and how did they get the highest cpu benchmark result.

Please dont post unless you achieved at least a 10% higher result than the last post.

I will start off with my latest of 4100

1.8ghz g4 ti4600 1g ram

I am sure someone is going to post a result much higher than this so I wont describe my system or setup further.

Also, I dont know if dual cpu's would help or can even be used,...,but if it increases your result...say so.

6000 on a p4 2,4 @2,7 GHz FSB 600

Still, the freaking server wont use more than 800 kBit/s of bandwidth during gameplay, so it does no good, max players is still 14-16..

The number shown in the Preferences program is a synthetic benchmark that is a result of the CPU and memory subsystem throughput.

The only tweaking you can do to improve the score is to increase the CPU or memory speed by upgrading the component(s) or overclocking them.

My experience is that Memory speed is not taken into account, only CPU speed. I belive the test is done with "narrow" test that never tests the bandwith of the memory.

We run on a ASUS P4PE and I have made the server use more bandwith now. It was a Switch/Gateway that limited the use.

What do you think is the best ansiotropic setting for ofp and nvidia ti-4200?

Highest is always best. Set it to 8x AF, and see if it compromises FPS severely. If it does, then drop it down to 4x then 2x until you're at the FPS/image quality sweetspot.

Personally I think FSAA is more important to OFP because it will take the jaggies out of the models, terrain and vehicle edges. That said, AF is important too because it vastly improves the quality of the trees and other sprites, plus it will eliminate visible banding between levels of mipmapping on the ground in front of you.

Depending on the rest of your system specs, I'd probably set it to 2xFSAA 4xAF

thx for reply, my impression is that, 4x antialising works better than 2x in ofp. dunno why. I tried 8x ansiotropic and it was difficult to see graphic improvments.

btw

5800 with 2400+ on a 185 FSB. I'd have it at 200+ but the stupid 8rda+ can't do it stably sad.gif

Did some mild overclocking. 2400+ running at 2250 atm, benchmark is 6382. It's cool and running at 1.65v so I reckon I can hit 2400 easily.

I checked my number and it was somewhere around 3900 but I don't get why. I have a P4 2.4gig with 1gig 333mhz RAM on an Intel chipset motherboard. I have an Audigy and a Geforce 4200 128MB ram. Am I doing something wrong? Does using Win XP somehow lower the number? Thanks.
