IceFire 0 Posted November 28, 2002 Hi, does anyone know when the GOTY comes out? And if it will be patched up to the finally perfect 1.90 patch? I was reading the 1.90 buglist, and it seems as if all the old bugs are pretty much taken care of. If that is true, it would be a good idea to stop making new patches and risk ruining the game again, and to finally release the GOTY edition with the 1.90. theavonlady 2 Posted November 28, 2002 It's out. It installs 1.85. That's why there a GOTY 1.90 upgrade patch out. Had you searched The FAQ for "goty", you would have known this already.
IceFire 0 Posted November 28, 2002 Hmm, 1.85 is soo buggy. Will the GOTY edition be released with version 1.90 later? If so, how could I tell from the box if it is upgraded to 1.85 or 1.90? I want to buy the box when it is up to 1.90 so that I don't have to upgrade. Thanx

IceFire 0 Posted November 28, 2002 What do you mean? I thought that as new patches came out the new shipments of the game that come out would be automatically updated as well. Hmm, I don't intend to have to download 1.90 for OPF everytime I reinstall the game. Especially considering that I have my hard drive reformatted about every two weeks. And I HATE downloading patches from the internet.
shadow 6 Posted November 28, 2002 If I remember correctly there are 2 1.90-patches. One for Res (12MB) and one for GOTY (8MB). I believe the GOTY-edition comes as ver. 1.85 out of the box. edit: doooh I better pay more attention to Avon's posts

IceFire 0 Posted November 28, 2002 DAMMIT! Well then is there a way for me to have it so that my game CD will always be updated to 1.90 so that when I delete and reinstall the game, it will be at 1.90?? I really don't want to have to keep on downloading the patch. Also, one last question. My mom works for the State Dept and is currently stationed in New Deli India. I am visiting her here. Â If I buy the GOTY edition here. Â Will it be compatible with my computer? Â Or will it even be the same version as the American version? Or should I wait til I get back home? shadow 6 Posted November 28, 2002 Any version is compatible with any computer. To avoid having to re-download the 1.90patch I suggest you ermmm save it to your disk

Well it doesn't matter anyhow now.  I havn't played the game in like 6 months due to my cousin losing the CD a while back.  I Was all excited, was gonna go out to buy the GOTY edition tonight as soon as I heard it was out so I could finally play again, and finally try out resistence and red hammer for the first time.  Right before I leave to go out and get it, the damn plumbing busts flooding my room completely destroying my top of the line pentium 4, lots of gigahurts computer.       Fucking 3rd world plumbing. Should have never brought my comp with me
theavonlady 2 Posted November 28, 2002 Just got GOTY. There's a minor packaging error. The bottom of the enclosed install guide sheetlet says: "Disc 3 features stunning audio tracks of the Operation Flashpoint soundtrack for play in any CD." No it doesn't. Sorry, you'll still have to extract the music the old fashioned way. (Search The FAQ for "music").

Disc 3 is a combination Audio and data CD, so you won't see any of the Audio tracks when browsing the CD. Open it up with Media Player or WinAmp and you can play the tracks. shadow 6 Posted November 28, 2002 Does the cd include all music-tracks from both OFP and RES. and all of Seventh's? Anything else special with the GOTY-edition?

There are the 3 booklet manuals that came with CWC, RH and Res plus the Field Guide cardboard reference card. The 3rd CD also has two promo videos for CM's Prisoner of War and Race Driver (I had to strap myself into my chair just to watch it - wooooh!. The original 3 island map PDF files are also on Disc 3. Didn't get it as I've gotten OFP, Red Hammer, and Resistance as they came out, so it'd be a moot point. But it would be around the $60 mark
