The game on pc and on Mobile never give you to many items.
Like sometimes you find more food and some others you find more water.
You can't find many weapons backpacks clothes and armors and the zombie's are more even in the Novive mode.

In my personal opinion, for whatever reason, the browser version is harder than the mobile version. Anyways in my experience with the mobile version, the game decides if it will give you mostly water, or mostly food, the perks you choose concerning these factors also seem to determine it. Weapons and backpacks are very hard to find, the way they should be... Check military bases for a higher chance at these items. You are also able to create improvised bags, (burlap sack & rope). I think the browser verison is easy enough when you learned to deal with the bandits. I couldnt play the android version at all. 

On browser you can kite zeds without losing health. And if you  run down the left coast and the to the convoy at the start you have usually some good gear already.
