ran 0 Posted November 12, 2002 lol cadets are just cadets ... why do you put them in armed forces ? because they've got to use a gun once in a month ? the cadets aren't able to fight and are just wanabe soldiers who want some recreationnal time talking , acting and clothing like little soldiers and playing little soldiers , i'm ok with the fact that they can maybe prepare for future military careers but i wouldn't call a bunch of young teenagers wearing tight uniforms encadred by ex military men an "armed force" i'm a member of the French army reserve Ground forces in an engineer regiment , sergeant in a field security squad i've served in the active in 2 other engineer regiments including one in the french foreign legion i'm now police operative as civilian job , but i don't know if police is included in your description of armed forces
FSPilot 0 Posted November 12, 2002 Cadets are part of the armed forces. They're in a program modelled after the military, and a lot of them probably will join the military later on in their life. Close enough. I was in the civil air patrol as a cadet for a few years, but I quit when we moved to NJ. The squadron there was... sub-par. I'll probably rejoin the CAP once I get my pilots liscense and volunteer with them to do search and rescue flights, maybe homeland defense flights if I have time. I'm still thinking about joining the Air Force, Air National Guard, or AF Reserves. Those A-10s don't fly themselves.

ran 0 Posted November 12, 2002 i still don't see cadets as member of the "armed forces" in my definition , the armed forces are military forces that can participate actively to the fight on the battlefield (from the sf soldier to the air force mechanic)and it' not the cadets with their 4 semi auto rifles per squad that will do something , and i doubt that any governement would send teenagers in a warzone
