SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted November 9, 2002 Angry Janesville Man Barbecues Slow Modem Wife Says Man Has History Of Violence With Slow Dial-Up Connections </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Janesville police responded to a smoke complaint around 1 a.m. Tuesday and found a man barbecuing his computer modem. Â The 39-year-old man told police the modem was operating too slowly, and he decided grilling it might make it dial up faster. The man's wife told police that this wasn't the first time her husband got upset with a slow modem and that he has smashed them or tossed them out the door before. Police doused the coals with water and told the man's wife to make sure he went to bed. No one was injured, but police said the modem was a total loss. <span id='postcolor'> http://www.channel3000.com/news/1773494/detail.html lol!Just get broadband! advocatexxx 0 Posted November 9, 2002 Yep. Same sort of range that caused me to smash up my SBLive! with a hammer because of static it produced. My first monitor is also heavily scratched as everytime my old Win98 froze up (which was often) I'd get so pissed I'd either stab the monitor with a pen or scissors or just kick my computer tower. Good thing my new monitor is so much more expensive. I try and watch myself now.
OFPunk 0 Posted November 9, 2002 Dont punch the screen, it hurts very much and they dont break. Ive taken a few kicks at my case and it is still holding up. I have jumped on top of one of those old box type macintoshes then I kicked it like a soccer ball several times and it still worked!

FSPilot 0 Posted November 9, 2002 I wouldn't be surprised if they made computer towers out of the same stuff they make the black boxes in airplanes out of.
