rossoe 46 Posted February 14, 2017 I've been using the below wiki to help me build a terrain 40960 x 40960 http://pmc.editing.wiki/doku.php?id=arma3:terrain:satellite-texture-terra-incognita I grabbed a sat image from Terra Incognita which was larger then 40960 - perhaps in the region on 50000 (saved as oziExplorer map) I then grabbed terrain data from http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/lidar?format=sd which was larger than I needed - (saved as asc) I've opened Global Mapper and set UTM and 31 - ** assume this is correct for a map from south of England? ** are we forced to use this setting for Terrain Builder ? I've imported the terrain into Global mapper then created a map catalog and imported the map tiles saved from Terra But when I then goto to select an area 40960 x 40960 using Digitizer tool - 'advanced feature creation options → create regular grid of user-specified' i then get: Because my 40960 selection does not fit within the sat images - (and I was sure i picked a larger area for Sat image) - I'll have to download even bigger image Should I not worry about the original size of terrain and sat image - and just get larger than required for both, and then once in global mapper, select the 40960 x 40960 ready to import both to terrain builder
RoF 241 Posted February 14, 2017 Just download the missing bits. Or if you want them to be water, just paint over that bit in photoshop
