Eden editor FPS capped

Recommended Posts

Guys is anyone else having issues in the editor where their FPS is not exceeding 30 FPS?

I swear,i log into my editor, load up a mission, fps is ok at 60 capped by vsync, then after a minute or so,im capped at 30 fps.Its very annoying and cant configure options to make it any better.I am playing in full screen mode as usual.

After testing,it seems that the eden editor cannot handle a couple of thousand objects placed down, even if they are mostly tagged as "simple objects"

I had planned to populate each town of chernarus with more buildings, wrecks etc,but thats not likely to happen now it seems

anyone got any ideas?

I currently have 40% of the map populated,my fps is down to 20 in editor(full 60 ingame preview) but i cannot keep editing the map at soon to be single digit frame rates.

Would highly appreciate anyones input as i have spent many many hours, weeks day and night at this point editing the map and i dont want it to have been a total waste of time.

EDIT

OK...So this is very interesting,it seems that if i load up my map(many objects placed) fps is ok 60.

AS SOON AS I SELECT AN OBJECT.....copy and paste it....frames plumet to 20 or so...

Funnier still...if i use the object scroll tab on the left of my screen,to scroll up though my objects,my fps returns to 60.

Are there any editor gurus out there who can explain this wizardry?I need to know for my own sanity and before i pour more time into creating this map to the level of detail i want, which will be a couple of thousand more placed objects.

Thanks for taking the time to read

To sum up:

Having many objects placed in map does not affect fps in the editor,BUT... the scroll bar located to the left of the screen entitled "entities DOES affect fps drastically. Why? No idea. To get around this, simply have the "locations" tab open when possible.

Still this seems like a strange issue.
