walker 0 Posted November 5, 2002 Hi all I had a few emails about this in relation to BS06. They come along the lines of saying they get overwhelmed. Well that is what is is realy like for a commander. See one of the later missions in the TV series Band of Brothers the one where a young West Point Graduate eager for command experience so he can climb the greasy pole to the General Staff frezes while commanding Easy Company. The original comander of easy; now a major, wants to get out there and command his former company; replacing the idiot who is getting his former company and friends killed, but the battalion colonel orders his first sergeant and some men to restrain him. The major then orders the dubious Spears (Possible commiter of an atrocity where German POWs are shot) to take command which he does and Easy Company are saved. Remeber this NOT FICTION it is exactly as it happened straight from afterbattle reports personal recolections of the survivors and the divisions history. The question you have to ask yourself is are you that frozen westpoint graduate sitting in your humvee or shivering in a bush? While all around you your troops die. Make a plan it saves on rushed decisions. Make a decision! Indecision is the biggest killer of soldiers lead in the field. Make fallback plans for if things go wrong or the plan dont work. Spinor gave us a great range of waypoint triggers from timed triggers to the take position trigger. These are a better than the controls for dedicated strategy games! The take position trigger is great for getting troops to wait till you give the command. They halt till you tell them to go with a few key presses Kind Regards walker
Guest Posted November 5, 2002 This is mission editing or OT. Since it is mostly about a mission (Battle School 06), I'll move it to ME. Moving

toadeater 0 Posted November 7, 2002 He's talking about Band Of Brothers being based on actual events that transpired in WW2, not the OFP mission. It's one of the best war movies (series) ever made. I thought it was alot better than Saving Private Ryan, and it had the same kind of "documentary" look and cinematography. You can see some trailers here: Band Of Brothers
