I played a new mission of Apex, precisely the one where you have to free up a policeman from the handcuffs holding down the space bar button. It 'a new editor function? New script?

Is the actual script / function for freeing a hostage available somewhere as well or would I have to try and recreate it?

That's the function they used, but the settings are embedded in the campaign, so encrypted.  You can pretty much do the same thing though.  Hallyg posted an example of that.
