Blender to O2 import error

Recommended Posts

I am trying to import a model from Blender into O2. I have tried exporting it as a .3DS and a .OBJ. When I do a .3DS, it gives me an error about missing KFDATA. When I try it as an OBJ, I get an error about having too many vertices on a face. However, i have gone through and I don't seem to have any faces with more than 4 vertices, unless circles count. I have a circle at the top and a circle at the bottom of my object. If this is the issue, how do I break that up into smaller pieces?

When working with the .3DS I tried importing the object into Anim8or and using the dummy KFDATA option, but that doesn't seem to have worked either.

Any suggestions?

Hi mate,

This will solve all your problems: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/145290-arma-toolbox-for-blender-arma-23-exporter-script/

Alwarren's Blender Toolbox is a wonderful addon for Blender and allows for an easy export process to O2, LODs and all. Just make sure you open the file in O2 before you attempt to load it in-game, otherwise you'll get an error message.

Hope that helps! :)

Thank you!

I was able to work around the issue, but I will definitely use that in the future!

As an aside, do yo know of any tutorials on writing all the config files to add an object in?

I am working on adding a few IEDs to the game, but the config files are absolutely overwhelming to me!
