why are the effects (particle) still so bad ?

i do not understand that the effect-system after so many years of development are still so ugly.

I mean all areas are so great (textures,gameplay, tweaked,editor etc.) and becomes attention, but the particle system, especially grenade-impacts, explosions,kickdust or fire and smoke have a effectstandart like a games they are ten years before.

That simply makes no more fun.

Is there any plans for a effect update with the tanoa patch ?

Time and priority management is my guess as, that's always been the vital focus of BI. Taking a closer look, yes, the particle effects are pretty out dated, aside from having access to better NVidia physics for particles and the progress that has been made (smoke that moves depending on the wind), is little and few in between. Some effects in my opinion, such as bullet impacts of all classes, could use more attention, but that's unlikely to happen because Apex development is probably in full swing, leaving all other aspects of Arma at lowest of priority unless directly involved in Apex. At least, that's my guess, as it would be the logical thing going on about now as we transition from Q1, to the beginning of Q2, Apex's prime time.

thx for your reply, okay thats a good point ...i hope that bis has keep an eye on the particle effect system after the Apex patch. I think that would make everyone happy ;)
