jw custom 56 Posted September 15, 2015 I have generated a terrain in L3DT with following specs: Width: 2048 Height: 2048 Horiz. scale (m): 2 The problem is that my game freezes playing on this terrain when i get too close to right side of the map. I have noticed the terrain has some extra terrain on the right side which looks blurry and weird, here is a few pictures to show what i mean. I have red-lined the areas. Picture from within game: http://imgur.com/e9hFDGK Picture from within editor: http://imgur.com/RYXqTxW Can anybody tell me why that extra width is added to my terrain? Richie 330 Posted September 15, 2015 Check your mapframe settings under the samplers tab, at them values your terrain should be 4,096 meters x 4,096 meters, yours looks rectangle or check the properties in the rasters tab of all your source files.
jw custom 56 Posted September 15, 2015 You mean the settings should be like this: http://imgur.com/bzpSUob and http://imgur.com/PayfVYT It still freezes with these settings.
Richie 330 Posted September 15, 2015 Your grid size should be 2048 and your cell size 2 in the samplers tab, then i would rebuild the terrain, delete the layers folder in the data folder before regenerating the layers again. Hopefully that sorts that huge overlap you have and also the problem you're having, your overlap should be around 32-40 depening on the grid/cell size.
jw custom 56 Posted September 15, 2015 Now it looks fine on the left side but game still freezes when i reach upper right corner... Something weird is going on, now there is some dirt roads which i think is from the atlas tutorial terrain in my terrain  I think i will reinstall everything tomorrow and see if that will fix things. Thanks for your patience and help B)
Richie 330 Posted September 15, 2015 The roads are because you don't have a roads shape defined in your config i think, It sounds like your configs are either messed up or have missing info. Have a look at the stratis config and edit to suit, did you happen to get the configs from a Captncaps video ? they do have a few issues.

Im using the config from the atlas tutorial and removed the path to roads.shp and also the scripts folder from the root of the P drive as i wasn't going to add roads anytime soon! I think i need to start complete over installing tools and P drive to get a clean start :)
