LBGS_Stewart 0 Posted October 13, 2002 i am courious that this are the only surpluse feild jackets i have found. and it also said that they have been in service for 30 years or so. i am courious are this a good jacket for winter perpousces such as the UP of michigan. i am looking into the surpluse jackets because stuff usly given out to the military are durable and long lasting like anything else the military tends to hand out AFAIK. also how much warmer dose the jacket feel with the Liner in place? Audie Murphy 0 Posted October 14, 2002 I have one, with the liner in they are VERY warm. When I was a kid I had one and would tunnel into snow banks with it on and never feel cold.

rocketjager 0 Posted October 14, 2002 I bought one surplus a couple of years ago and have worn in through 2 Northern IL winters. If you plan to wear it as a heavy jacket I suggest buying a liner for it.Without the liner it is suitable as a light/medium jacket. That said it was very warm with the liner, and is a good choice for durabiltiy. My dad still wears his occasionaly that he was issued in the 70s.
