PaperPlane 1 Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) As title says, game crash at loading screen. Exactly before the loading has completed the game crash. I've recently got home and haven't played Arma 3 in 5 months time. I've tried different drivers (have a gtx770). Reinstalled the game twice, removed mods, verified game cache on steam, deleted content in roaming folder. It has loaded the map properly two times but the game wasn't working correctly after that. My fps was at a steady 5 constantly. And when in game the textures of the character was flickering. Seems like the game isn't using the gpu at all. I haven't had any problems with other games that i've tried. To be more specific, I can't load virtual arsenal or training aswell. ratszo 17 Posted April 29, 2015 Humm..., maybe re-install the 'vcredist' thingy?: Go into arma3 Dir, open '_CommonRedist' folder; open 'vcredist'; open '2013' folder; run the vcredist_x64, or _x86 for 32-bit os. Follow with a defrag & re-boot the 'puter. Keep us posted, good luck.
PaperPlane 1 Posted April 29, 2015 Thank you, but it still wont load. Well, it loads but just when you're just about to get into the game it crashes like before. Urghh...I want to play som badly...
ratszo 17 Posted April 29, 2015 When you say, "get into the game", what are you trying to play? Corrupted savegames? Can you get into the editor? Did you ever use 'sweetFX'? --those .dll need to go. Steam workshop missions? Delete'em. Steam streaming? Steam overlay? Steam ui enabled? Temp folders like, %APPDATA%\..\local\arma 3\SteamMissionsCache .Rtp crash logs? --forgot where they are... Guess you can try a re-install again --but delete everthing left after uninstalling thru steam: arma Dir, temp files. profiles ought to be safe.
PaperPlane 1 Posted April 29, 2015 When I said "get into the game" I mean everything, editor, mission, virtual arsenal, everything. Occasionaly the training missions work but then I have very low fps. I did use sweetFX but as soon as the game didn't work properly I removed it from the folder. Deleted stuff in %appdata% folder. Have no steam mission. I managed to load one mission properly and I ran msi afterburner at the same time. The gpu usage was down at 10% all the time. So the gpu not noticing arma 3 running or something seems to be the problem...
das attorney 858 Posted April 29, 2015 How are you launching it? Arma launcher or from another launcher or elsewhere? If you are launching from Steam, remember to check your "set launch options" button, as you may have some bad stuff in there.
ratszo 17 Posted April 29, 2015 May well still be sweetFX .dll's still there in the Dir. Was a big problem last year. People would remove the folder, but not the .dll. Gonna search old threads.... ---------- Post added at 06:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:48 PM ---------- Have you got " dxgi.dll " in the Dir? If so, rename it with a semi-colon " ;dxgi.dll " to disable it. ---------- Post added at 06:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:04 PM ---------- Or cut it out. dxgi.dll
PaperPlane 1 Posted April 29, 2015 All I have in the launch options is: -nosplash -skipIntro, no funny stuff. I launch the game using the official launcher. Here are the files I have in the arma 3 folder: ---------- Post added at 22:40 ---------- Previous post was at 22:21 ---------- So I've figured out what the problem is. It's the official launcher. I started the game in its folder and it worked like it should do. So the launcher makes the computer think the game isn't running. So it dosen't bother using the gpu, disk, or cpu. Weird. ratszo 17 Posted April 29, 2015 Hey, good news! I don't use launcher either. Add the to your start-up: -noLauncher

kopfdurchwand 10 Posted May 14, 2015 Same problem here. Do we have a fix yet? Arma 3 isn't working just on my main PC btw, on my Laptop everything is fine. I re-installed the game twice, searched for missing/incorrect files like 4 times. I managed to get into a game one time, when I was in windowed mode, but even than I had constantly 1 FPS. Tried again to launch via windowed mode, had no success. Btw, developement build works fine, it's just the current version that hates me :( So i guess, at least with the next update the problem should be solved. kopf
