Need Help! Pointer, Distance and Position?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I try to put units in buildings in Arma3 after watching this video on youtube

In the video you see Jester814 point out to positions in the building and in his pointer he can see the distance to where he's pointing at, but also the position number.

When I do the same thing as Jester814, I don't see the range to the pointed position or the number off that position, so it gets really hard to get the units in the right position without going back and forth between editor and preview to see in what position te unit is placed.

I've searched the internet but just can't find the right answer :(

How do I get this valuable information in my pointer?

Yes, thats what I do al the time to bring up the pointer, but it doesn't give "meters to object" or a "position number" to the position I'm pointing at. It only shows the pointer and next to the pointer it say's "Military Offices" or if pointed at Military Cargo Post "Military Cargo Post".

Just took this screenshot. That youtube video was filmed during the Alpha or Beta, which some things have changed since then.

It is showing the positions properly.

Mmm thats strange... I just took this screenshot???

And after that I went back to the editor to check the other 4 test missions I've created, and there is only one mission where I can see the positions in a building and that was the first mission I created... So after that it went wrong I guess. Also when I create a new mission now I don't see the positions?

It is because you don't have anybody in your group, add another unit in your group and it will work.

You just made me feel dumb :( Thank you very much for helping me out!!! Problem solved ;)
