Balschoiw 0 Posted October 6, 2002 sorry man. This is the wrong place to get you ideas. This is about problems in mission editing and not about problems with plots that start before mission editing. I dont get your second part. What´s the problem ? Cant you unzip the addons to addon folder ? can´t you opent the .pbo itself or what do you wanna ask ? Chronicles 0 Posted October 6, 2002 Here what i read before coming in this part of the forum </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">MISSION EDITING (Making new missions, user made missions and campaigns, ..)<span id='postcolor'> So Balschoiw , it is really the good place for his "inspiration" question Sniper_Panther , how about making a "defend the city" mission , these are very fun , to be outnumbered , but to have good position for the defense  is very entertaining (La Trinite in Malden is an example of a good town for this kind of scenario  tons of bush for hiding, lots of building , forest, roads) The key is to find exactly what to use to balance the attacking and defensive forces , a T80 is too powerfull for a squad where there is only 1 AT4 soldier by example For your second question , from what website do you download addons ? Most OFP website will give you the addon in a zip , you need to unzip everything in your addon folder , dont move the zip in there , OFP will not understand this format (you can notice every file in your addon folder is in pbo format ! There are some websites that do not want people to leech their files from other sites, so they make password for their zipped files , to force you to visit their own download page. But this is very rare , i dont remember an OFP website to use password on zip files ?
Sniper_Panther 0 Posted October 6, 2002 how can i unzipp a folder?
Balschoiw 0 Posted October 6, 2002 A pure folder, that is not in a zip file does not have to be unzipped. If the folder is zipped doubleclick the zip, tell WinZip where to extract the folder too and go. If the zip file should create a new folder called Addon within the existing addon folder of OFP copy the content of the new addon folder and move it to the original ofp addon folder. Passwords become more common to OFP Addons since there was a lot of leeching. The password for the file should be at the homepage where you downloaded the zip file. Chris Death 0 Posted October 6, 2002 hmm - never seen any passwords for addons at ofp.cz try this link: www.winzip.com to get winzip :edit - @ Chronicles, sure it's the place where to discuss mission making, but the basic idea of the mission should still be each own's idea. A good way of getting idea's for your own mission could be: -) download other's missions -) play them -) decide, which were good, which not -) get an overview, of what type of missions are out there,  think about what kind of mission you're missing (if you want  to make a different one), watch war/anti-war movies platoon, saving private ryan, blackhawk down (oops forget the last one, too many missions on that out yet ), etc. Just get inspired by them and think about, what you could imagine to be a keeeewl mission in ofp then. ~S~ CD

Chris Death 0 Posted October 6, 2002 There's a folder on your harddisk, called: OperationFlashpoint In this folder, there is another folder: Addons Once you put your addon files (xxx.pbo) into this folder, the new units are waiting for you to play with them. Expecting, you have some missions, which are using these addons, or you click onto the EDITOR and make yourself some. ~S~ CD
