Arma3Legacy138 no longer valid? I'm forced to update? What's going on?

I don't want anything to do with successive versions of A3 until Dragonfyre has been updated, why am I being forced to update? Why is 1.38 no longer an option?

Only one previous stable version is available. So the current being 1.42, only Arma3Legacy140 is an option.

The game seems to run pretty well, even for an update, I'm always leery about that, so I'll give them that. The economy of performance is decent.
