do server owners have a log file to their disposal?

I was wondering, if i were to make a server, would i have a log file to my disposal which logs all scripts executed client- sided and server- sided?µ

If so, how good would this be to catch cheaters?

Battleye uses these files to both log and deal with culprits, they are called BE filters.

Their effectiveness is based on your ability to create good filters.

You can create a set of custom filters for specific missions and define your own ruleset
