DracoPaladore 0 Posted January 3, 2003 OK, I finally decided to try scripting. I heard its quite easy, compared to most games out there. Also that you don't need much but a pad and paper to record names of things and the program notepad. 1. How do I make it so that when all targets in an area are dead, that the mission is won? 2. Why am I able to plant mines that work but not able to place them in a mission and fail? 3. Is there a way to make mines AP as well as AT? 4. IS there a complete list of official addons? 5. Is there a program I can use to make scripting any easier(I know some of you despise people from using htem, but I just started out and it would be easier for me to get use to it) 6. How do I show objectives in a list? 7. How do I show icons on the map? Or the player? 8.Is there a way to make it so when, lets say, a LAW soldier dies another soldier takes the LAW from the corpse? That is all for now Thank you for answering my questions.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted January 3, 2003 1. use trigger. no need for scripting 2. did you try 'empty=>mines'? 3. someone came up with AP mine script..try www.ofpec.com 4. yes. look at the ME section, one of pinned topics. 5. yes. search. in www.ofpec.com under utilities. 6. you mean briefing? 7. you mean markers? they usually show up. 8. i think so. just tedious scripting it is. eck..search for you r answers. i'm not a good source for this. for scripting, i suggest johna Gustavson's tutorial in scripting also available on www.ofpec.com

Yep 7. No, not markers. I mean unit/tanks/airplane icon to be visable in the soldiers map in-game. Hell, it dosen't even show the player on the map.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted January 3, 2003 6. you need to have briefings.html in the folder you created. in missioneditor, you can preview it by pressing Shift+click on preview button. for more info on briefing.html, you can look at editing section in this website(www.flashpoint1985.com) 7.my answer would be that it depends on the mode you are playing. veteran mode does not show it, cadet does. not sure if it is scriptable or not. DracoPaladore 0 Posted January 3, 2003 Oh..So If I'm using the editor in Cadet Mode, They'll show up in the game map, but if I'm using the advanced editor, they won't? Dosen't make much sense.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted January 3, 2003 no...when you start editor, the game difficulty level is automatically deleivered from previous game's difficulty level. default is Veteran, but if you played a SP mission before you start editor, whatever difficulty level you played with will be carried over. so if you played steal the car in cadet mode, it'll be carried to editor, and then you can see where you are.
