Newbie question

Never played online before(you guys must think I was found on a desert island yesterday eh?). I can't find anyone who's playing or know how to post a new game. Any help from the pros please?

What version of OFP are you running?

Resistance = 1.75.

The latest patch for original OFP is 1.46.

At the first menu when you've launched OFP, you can see a header on top saying Operation Flashpoint. Below that, it says with white on black, "Version: blah blah". (In case you're not sure what version you have.)

And if you have Resistance, you launch the game, hit Multiplayer in the menu, and then you come to a laptop screen. There you make sure that it says "Address: Internet". If it says "Address: LAN" or something else, click on that text until it says "Address: Internet". Then it will show you all available dedicated servers.

And another thing you should know:

To chat, it says you should use the / key. This depends on the keyboard layout you have. It can be the - key if you have another layout. It's always the key to the left of the Shift button on the right hand side.

Hi, Welcome

The quickest way to get a game going is to jump into OFP Resistance, click Multiplayer from the menu, and make sure the Source is set to "Internet" then the ingame browser will display a list of available servers you can play on.

These are dedicated servers, hosted by a main server, not a person. People come and go, so you will need to find a game ready to go with players in it, and one that isn't too high a ping for you.

Once you are in the game people will help you out, you will find in general the OFP community are quite helpful.
