alleycat 28 Posted August 3, 2014 Would anybody be so nice to import an example model from p3d into fbx? When I try to import the exported FBX myself into my modeling package it crashes on import. What I need is just the basic geometry so I can use that to scale in XSI instead of having to do it in the object builder. What I need basically is for someone nice to export it from O2 as an FBX, then save that FBX in MAX, MAYA or XSI again so that it survives the import into XSI. The model is the Test_Weapon_01_f.p3d. x3kj 1247 Posted August 3, 2014 http://forums.cgsociety.org/archive/index.php/t-234731.html 1 unit XSI = 10cm apparently
alleycat 28 Posted August 3, 2014 Yes, however does the unit system in Object Builder relate to that too?
x3kj 1247 Posted August 3, 2014 objectbuilder uses meters. So if XSI indeed has 10cm for one unit and you import in object builder it should be 10x as big. make a block of 1x1x1 unit in XSI, import in object builder and check the position of the vertices and calculate the distance between them (select vertice, hit shift+e to view coordinates)
alleycat 28 Posted August 3, 2014 Thanks, my question was not worded well, what I meant was, does arma and do its weapons match real world scale? What if their guns are off that scale for a bit?
x3kj 1247 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) no they are on scale to realworld. Maybe not 100.0000% but not any less then our custom models will be. Edited August 3, 2014 by Fennek
alleycat 28 Posted August 3, 2014 Ok just checked the imported weapon matched to an M16 appears to match real world units. However I still have to drag my imported model around a lot to get it matched to the absolute position.
