GeneralNonsenze 10 Posted August 1, 2014 DayZ commander updated my ARMA 2 OA a couple of days ago for some reason. I tried to go down a build but it wouldn't allow me, so I re-installed ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA. It was all working, I redownloaded DayZ Origins via the commander and what not, until I hit a roadblock. Every time I try to connect to a server, it gives me the message 'Battleye initialization failed' and kicks me from the game. The problem has persisted for a couple days now, and has become an annoying obstacle. I've tried the following things Reinstalling Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA Reinstalling Steam Deleting the BEclient.dll and BEserver.dll files and reinstalling them Going into the 1.62 version via Steam Going into the 'beta -' version via Steam Running Steam as an admin then launching ARMA 2 OA Launching ARMA 2 OA via DayZ Commander It's truly becoming frustrating. This has been happening ever since Gamespy shut down and Arma 2 moved to steam. Any help?
opusfmspol 282 Posted August 2, 2014 See if BattlEye's in quarantine. Recent issue with some virus scan softwares doing that. Mine would throw BE in quarantine and the game would still launch, but BE won't run from virusscan quarantine. Has to be removed from quarantine before the game is launched. Add to exceptions if possible.
SirCharlie 10 Posted August 6, 2014 Hey, I created an account just to say thank you, OpusFmSPol I followed the advice of checking my quarantine folder and that solved all my problems. battleye quarantined all of my files. Using McAfee, I turned off my real time scanner, and then deleted all of my quarantined files. I reinstalled the BattlEye files from their website and my game is now running after one month of nothing. Thank you so much OpusFmSPol.
opusfmspol 282 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Glad I could help. Just be aware with McAfee, scheduled scans will throw it back in quarantine periodically. Have to keep checking before game launch. It's a pain with McAfee, they don't allow their users to add a detection to exceptions unless their labs have classified it as a "PUP" (potentially unwanted program). EDIT: (speaking from experience..... ) Edited August 7, 2014 by OpusFmSPol Annoyed at my own McAfee.
