abshire 2 Posted July 7, 2014 Day 1: 0330 The thunderstorm that you have been listening to in the distance seems to be getting closer and closer. The sound of the cracks of thunder are different than you have ever heard, but you roll over and ignore the sound. 0430 You notice the power has shut off in your home. The fan that was keeping you cool on this hot summer night is now slowly stopping. So you decide to open a window to let in some of the cooler, night air. Just then the roar of fighter jets flying at low altitude buzz over your home...and the thunder you have been hearing in the distance now seems much closer, more intense...and in a higher concentration. 0445 You turn on your battery operated emergency radio to try and make sense out of the coming storm. It crackles to life, and you search for a signal. Nothing but dead air comes from the radio on all FM frequencies. You switch it to AM and start doing some scanning...and finally you hear a voice: 'This is the Emergency Broadcast System, this is not a test. We are under attack from an unknown conventional Army. All television, internet, cell phones, long range FM radio towers, and land lines have been disabled. Communication outside of the country is limited to only.....' The radio falls silent. 0500 You are now dressed, and have gone outside to your garage to throw a few items into your pickup truck. You grab batteries, a flashlight, a knife, some warm clothing you use for hunting, your sleeping bag, gas lantern, some matches, a small tent, an old military pack, and a few other items that you use every year when you go to your hunting camp. You rush back inside, grabbing your hunting rifle, shotgun, pistol, hunting bow with a few arrows, and what ammo you have in the house for your weapons. You grab a box and throw in all the canned food that you have in your house, and a few jugs of water that you have. You are in your truck and out the door. INVASION! Welcome to the dawn of a new day. Guerrilla warfare is going to be a multiplayer game mode that puts you in the shoes of a resistance fighter making trouble for an invading army. You start with a few supplies and are on your own, in the woods. You have a few days worth of food and water. You will have to learn to gather your own supplies through hunting, fishing, trapping, and gathering wild edibles as well as finding clean water. The mission will be persistent, you will be able to store items such as weapons, food, water, ect in your camp. You are not alone...others have fled to the wilderness to try and escape. They come from all walks of life, and are trying to survive as well. You can try and befriend other players and form resistance groups, try and go at it alone, or take up arms against your own country men and be a collaborator sent to hunt down any possible resistance groups. The local population is stunned. They do not really understand what is going on, who to trust, and who to turn to. Their entire world has been destroyed around them and they are unpredictable. Do nice things for them and they might give you food, a place to hide for the night, information on where the enemy might be, and other valuable intelligence. Do something that they do not like...and they may turn you in, alert enemy forces near by, or simply ignore you. Your reputation with the local population is key to the angle that you wish to play. The more productive your resistance group becomes (Killing the enemy, destroying enemy resources, capturing enemy assets), the bigger target you paint on your back. The enemy will send out more patrols, place higher bounties on you, and will use more assets to track you down and destroy you. The goal of the game is survival. You can simply just survive, you can survive and fight, or you can fight against those who are just trying to survive. The choice is yours and in the end if you live to fight another day, you have won...at least for now. There is no real hope for victory, so survive each and every day just to annoy the hell out of those who dared invade your home! Make them pay, you are a fighter, you are the resistance. Welcome to Guerrilla Warfare. If you are interested in helping with this MP Game mode, please inbox me and I will get back to you. For now this is going to start as a MP game mode but may grow into a full mod. Baby steps. The Aim is to create a realistic Guerrilla fighting situation that adds the unknown element of other players...some you can trust and some you cannot.
