BUFF 0 Posted July 7, 2002 Hate to admit it, but I keep getting creamed here! Tried right & left flanking, straight up the middle, sniping etc. but I keep getting swamped by continuous patrols/waves  of infantry. T-55's don't seem much use either. Tips,"solution" gratefully accepted.
John C Flett 0 Posted July 7, 2002 Not saying its the best approach but its worked for me in a few missions, especially if you have the view distance up to about 1200m. Got everybody into armour, swung to high ground a distance away from the objective. In this case theres a small hill due south of your start, west of the road. Come up behind the hill then over the crest. You should now have a good view of the first objective with a reasonable standoff distance. Just pound everything you see. Keep an eye open for armour cause it can ruin your day very quickly. When your sure you've cleared the roadblock move in so reinforcements arrive for your side then curve SW then SE to take position on the next hill and again just pound everything you see from a distance. Move position a few times to clear any blind spots then move into the town. Its a little slow and less than exciting but it works. Armour seems to have become a lot more dangerous with increased view distance and if you take advantage of that and good use of terrain you should be able to cause serious harm in the next few missions. Just remember that only a couple of meters elevation can hide a tank or give it a clear view of the battlefield and Nogova is not short of small rises that will serve a good tank commander very well. N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted July 7, 2002 Yes the tank tactic John C Flett posted is the best way to complete missions where you have tanks you can use by yourself. That mission was quite easy. I jumped into T-80 alone (the easiest way IMO since your own troops aren't good in tank handling) and drove next to the small grave near the rocks and trees. From there I had very good view on the first outpost. Loaded HEAT ammo (best way to deal with infantry) and blasted everything up in the outpost. It was quite easy from there on since there was only infantry left and HEAT shells are so deadly against groups of infantry.
