Super ai!?

Recommended Posts

I think I've discovered what super AI really does.  I decided to redo the entire resistance campaign with super AI turned on, just to prove myself worthy to... well, myself.  It takes intelligence away from resitance AI soldiers, and puts in in russian AI soldiers.  After you read this story it'll be the only thing that makes sense...

Second mission, "Ammo Low" I decide to ambush the convoy from the mountains, figuring the tanks won't be able to shoot at me from such an angle.  I set up the whole team on an edge and walk off to my own special spot.  I sit there and wait for the convoy to arrive.  Finally, it does.

I order my 2 RPG gunners to attack the T-72 after I shoot it with an RPG once, then I take out the BMP with the RPG.  So far, so good.  The T-72 and the BMP are taken out, but the two truck drivers are still alive, and a bunch of infantry just hopped out of one of the trucks.  I tell my machine gunner to open fire on one truck, so as to shoot the driver.  I concentrate on that truck too, figuring 2 guns is better than one.  No luck.  I must have put 3 clips into that truck, the driver didn't die.  So the trucks drive off like crazy, and I eventually get shot by infantry.  Being a stubborn person (persistant, I like to say wink.gif), I try 2 or 3 more times before trying a different strategy.

This time, I would get in a different position.  While still up on the mountain by the valley, I was on the other side that the drivers would be facing.  At first all went well, the BMP and T-72 were taken out, and I got the two drivers.  But now there was a big battle in the valley.  All that infantry was still there, and we were still in a very exposed position on that mountain.  Eventually, I got shot again.

So now I was frustrated.  I decided to go down below the rest of my guys and take out the T-72 myself, and have the 2 other RPG gunners take out the BMP.  Which should be a very easy feat for two gunners, seeing as how it's an easy feat for one gunner.  I hide behind a little dip in the scenery (I have the detail turned up a notch) and load up the RPG.  The T-72 goes right by, *wham*.  Nailed him.  I tell the two gunners to shoot at the BMP and, figuring they'd do it, reload and turn to shoot the T-72 a second time.  *pop pop pop* I'm dead.  The after-death camera sequence revealed that the RPG nailed me. mad.gif  I kept trying and trying and trying.  3 or 4 times later, they just wouldn't take out that BMP.

So, in short why would you want to give the enemy super AI when your own troops don't even shoot?

*vents*

The Super AI does this: it sets skill of all units (no matter if friendly, enemy, civilian or whateven) to maximum. It does not do anything else.

I have no explanation for your story.

... mad.gif

See, the thing that gets me is that they fired just fine until I went down the mountain, then they didn't fire.
