Paratrooper 0 Posted August 10, 2002 I have been thinking recently, If Nogova (and islands?) is an independant republic, what is it's flag? I think we should put our heads together and come up with one. Would you go for the simple, symbolic style, like the Norfolk Island one (which I think would suit Nogova): Or go along the lines of other post soviet countries and try a style like Moldova: Or should it have a more clearly communist feel like china: Or would you go with a more psudo-heraldric feel (as a country trying to re-invent it's nationality might), this is the flag of Flanders: What do you think? any suggestions? Nogova needs a flag! I want one for missions/possible campaign and to give the public areas of the island a little character, a national feel.
Harnu 0 Posted August 10, 2002 I dunno.... hmmm. Maybe let's everyone chip in and make our own nogovan flag

My question is, what will it be like? Suggestions? Select a style like one of the above flags and we can work from there.
Jamesia 0 Posted August 10, 2002 judging by the amount of British people who seem to live there, why not just use the British flag? I think, because of the naturally violent nature of the community on Nogova it needs to be sort of reds, and maybe have a herald in the middle.

Red denotes government socialism usually. I lean towards the first flag (in style). What do you lot think?
Paratrooper 0 Posted August 10, 2002 The Norfolk Island flag appeals to me because of the simple symbol and the green and white are the colours on the Nogovan Police jeep. This would be a great flag if it wasn't already taken!
Jamesia 0 Posted August 10, 2002 Yeah, I think the norfolk island flag shows their simplicity. (no offence to any norfolk islanders here!, it just looks really sweet and neutral. they're not really an agressive people, but the russians force them into fighting for their country. this makes you like them even more. what about the norfolk island flag, with a herald with a tree somehow in it, and a British flag in the upper left hand corner, because I am convinced that it is very much related to Britain but has got independance or something like that. So it would be similar to the Australian flag but with the norfolk island flag in it, ya know, when resistance is released in America and they have re-done all of the speech to give the people like Troska American accents I am gunna be screwed, lol. VXR 9 Posted August 10, 2002 the first one is nice for beeing a flag for nogova maybe start a poll on it and the flag with the most votes goes to a news site?
Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted August 10, 2002 the 1st one is a good idea w/ the colors of the police jeeps and all, but can someone modify it in some way were instead of a tree it is something else that has a lot to do with the island? I dont know what though

I dont know what though  <span id='postcolor'> It is a real flag if you read, so we can't use it. I think the tree is a good symbol anyway. I am asking about the style more than anything. I would like a real debate in the community if it is going to be widely used. Anyone else? suggestions?
Jamesia 0 Posted August 10, 2002 How about one of these (i just made them) Look at them here I think that they are all quite good. The reason I have to do it in a link like that is because I am sure that this won't work: (if it does work then look at them there) please tell me what you think
Paratrooper 0 Posted August 10, 2002 They are ok, but the British flag wont do, Nogova was a Soviet possession, not a British one, they certainly wouldn't have a British standard on the flag. It also wouldn't be used with that design. But good thoughts, keep them coming!
ralphwiggum 6 Posted August 10, 2002 how about a big '<span style='color:green'><span style='font-size:19pt;line-height:100%'>N</span></span>' in the middle?

GreyKnight 0 Posted August 10, 2002 Yeah, I like the green colour scheme, but I really can't see where the Union Jack comes from - the only british (sounding) guy is Victor Troska. The rest of the inhabitants are definitely not British!?! This isn't the Falkland Islands...

Jamesia 0 Posted August 10, 2002 Im obsessed with the idea that the island belongs to Britain...... if you watch like, the 2nd cutscene (the one where he drives into town) you will think that everyone is British on that island......... theres that woman (definitely Brtish) that man...... "alex" (also sounds British) also the tazmanian devil. I just think that its ruled by Britain...... Nogova is clearly not part of the commonwealth, we are told that it was part of the Eastern block. ok?! Who else likes green and white theme, with green 'N'? I have a design made up, just need someone to host it.
