TheShroud 10 Posted March 16, 2014 Does anyone know what vest provides the most coverage? Bohemia states that the Spec Rig provides the most protection yet all I see in the VAS is a Carrier Spec Rig. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the Carriers were just Kevlar with no ceramic plating. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Plate carriers are usually light weight bare bones devices used to hold ballistic plates, sometimes they have space or pockets for (Kevlar) soft armor backings behind the plates to give added protection and comfort but not always. - http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/alternateforce_2258_4661417 Armor vest are just what they sound like, vest with soft armor (kevlar) pannels inside, sometimes they have pockets for ballistic plates to give added protection against higher caliber rounds. 13islucky 10 Posted March 16, 2014 If I'm not wrong the CSAT uniform is the only uniform that provides (small) protection. The CSAT load bearing vests have the greatest capacity, but negligible protection. NATO carriers are the best protected, but have the least capacity (I still find it to be able to carry more than enough, though). They're also the heaviest.
