tupolov 520 Posted February 25, 2014 All, For a while it was believed that serverCommand had been disabled since OA 1.59. However, in Arma 3, this command now works when called from the in game debug console (as an admin). In fact, it works when calling a script or compiled function from the debug console as well. It doesn't work if you simply call serverCommand from a script (that hasn't been called by the debug console). I don't see anything special about the debug console in BIS configs or scripting. Anyone have any ideas how we could possibly do this from script without the debug console? This was tested on a local dedi setup.
tonic-_- 53 Posted February 25, 2014 Well then... this seems troubling... So with the debug console you could execute it in a dedicated environment and it works but not from another source of execution? Is this in the dev build? I myself hope they don't bring it back because it was disabled in ARMA 2 for a reason and that was before we had the dayz influx of cheaters. If that command is being brought back I fear the end :x
tupolov 520 Posted February 26, 2014 Available in Stable... I'm using other methods to end the server session now, so will not be relying on it, but its still interesting that the debug console appears to be able to run serverCommand!

Interesting... Again I sure hope they fix that because enabling the debug console as a cheater is childs play and I am already having flashbacks of ARMA 2 back at patch 1.55 and hundreds of people and admins being banned...
