Should would-be users be of the understanding that the four versions are just differentiated by hiddenSelectionsTextures[]=""; or...?

There is different functionality of those versions to include changes in crew, equipment and armament thus for example only A-3A is equipped with rear turret so its crew is supplemented by a gunner. RA-3B is equipped with camera only, and has crew of two: pilot and sensor operator. Tanker is supposed to provide aerial refueling only so it is not armed at all. All four variants are not equipped with countermeasures since I couldn't find evidence they used to use it during Vietnam War, except an ECM jammers (and they are hard to implement BTW). Therefore, a fighter/SEAD escort should always be considered while planning missions for A-3s. There are also changes in model - refueling pod, rear turret, radar etc. Of course hiddenSelectionsTextures works as well and gives you possibility to make a custom livery, crew names tags or change serial/side numbers, carrier name, things like that.
