XsanX 10 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Title: Hürtgenwald, Part 1 Type: COOP Mission Version: 1.0 Date: 2014-February-14 Author: SAN Mission name ingame: co_14@_i44_hurt-genwald_[1]_v1.0_(SAN) Mission Description: For the Americans, it was the loss richest fight in the European theater of war. It was only in February 1945 succeeded the U.S. Army to overcome the German defenses and further advance to the Rhine. Since many of the German officers and soldiers, who at that time had created or site plans fell, after the fighting, there were no records on the location or size of the minefields. In addition, glass refills (Glassmine 43) and wood mines were more widely used, which also made it impossible for a complete evacuation, as these with conventional detection devices (metal detecting probes) are undetectable. It is therefore extremely dangerous, in those areas until today, to stay off the marked trails or hiking trails. Somewhere in Hurt-genwald . . . Credits & thanks: - JoergF - Invasion 1944 Team - norrin (Revive script) - Switchable up to 5 lives (Parameter settings) - Bon_Inf* (Graphics settings) - Xeno (Foggy breath, source unknown) - ACP-Coop-Server http://www.acp-club.de san-missions@public-files.de Installation: Extract the .pbo file(s) to your ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead\MPMissions folder. Requirements: - Arma 2 - Invasion 1944 - D-Day - Community Base addons - Invasion 1944 - D-Day Patch #5 - Thirsk Winter There is more to come on Thirsk. This is the first mission of several that I will publish in the coming weeks. In addition to this mission are three more in the testing phase and two more work in progress. The island Thirsk works fine with the i44 Mod and is great for displaying the fighting on the Western Front and in the middle of Germany, as the forests in these areas consist of 90% of coniferous vegetation. The geography is conclusive. The time between autumn 1944 and spring 1945 can be well depicted on Thirsk. Known issues: - The mission was tested well with beta patch "ARMA2 OA Build 103718". DO NOT USE beta patch "ARMA2 OA Build 112555"! The patch causes problems. Unexplained things happen. And there are massive performance lags.
