Need help with creating commanders on both sides

Recommended Posts

I need a little help, I have two platoons, one BluFor and one OpFor, and synchronized everything with the modules, and set the BluFor leader to Player, and the OpFor leader to playable, and start. when I switch to OpFor, I'll press Ctrl+Space, and none of the units will show up. it works perfectly fine for the Blufor units. What am I doing wrong here?

What you are doing wrong is trying to make a two player version of a High Command scenario. Sad to say, it is just not possible with the default HC system. That said, I have worked on the problem, and I will try to post my findings sometime soon. I cannot do so immediately, because I am very busy today, and because I have primarily been working on it in Iron Front and will need to transfer the work over to ArmA2. Wait a few days, and I will try to post what I've got so far.

Actually, now I think of it, it should be possible to do what you are doing in SP. Can you post your scenario so that we can have a look at it?

oh thank you! I was beginning to think I was never going to get a response. and I'm a bit of a noob, where do I extract the scenario from? also, it might be useful for you to know im running I44 as well as CBA, and the scenario is I44 based

I thought HC works with two sides. maybe you just need two HC modules, each synchronized correctly?

i've seen it used in multiplayer also in east vs west game.

I'm not sure all I know is I had two platoons set up, each with a commander and 3 subordinate squads, divided into 3 teams. but only the commander I spawn into can access the command module, I switch teams, press Lctrl + space but nothing happens. all I'm interested in doing is creating a firefight by directing each sides troops at another, I don't have the time right now to get into all the scripting and such.

Why don't you want to just use waypoints to direct them then? You maybe want something more dynamic or rather you want total control of teams' locations?

There is also an addon / script called HAL that is not very difficult to set up. It will give the enemy an AI HC that dynamically moves into an objective area that you set up with a simple empty trigger. He also tries to flank you and usually kicks my ass in HC strategy.

I actually managed to figure it out. I didn't synchronize the commander to the subordinate unit modules, I just used the grouping tool. now I've managed to get it to work. But thanks, I'll take a look into it ^.^
