Not me, British conservatism is probably closer to your average American opinion than contenental European. We all hate cruelty to children but look at it in different ways.

in asian cultures, up until recently, hitting thighs with sticks was tolerated in schools, let alone at home. and that was not considered as an abuse, but rather as disciplinary action.

We still have corporal punishment at our high school. Supposed to be voluntary though (it is except for one principal- I think he enjoys it)

I dont trust it. There are too many rotten people out there that even would make money by proclaiming to help "abused children".

If you want to donate money there are safer ways! wink.gif

Asian?- Indain? Chinese? Japanese? Cambodian?

You see refering to whole continents is a little blunt. Asia, Africa, Europe, they are all very diverse places.

Ok, sorry to rant on, but the reference to whole continents when people mean a specific country or countries gets my goat.

I did a long internship in South East Asia and there they treat their children very nicely. Actually I think even more wisely than europeans. Might be the Buddhism!

It's like that in Finland, too, but then there is also a law that says that kids

must be obedient.
