punkitup 0 Posted August 31, 2002 I am having a black screen freeze with the wording "On the Houndan road, Malden Mon, Jun 4, 170" remaining on the screen. This is a complete keyboard lock up requiring a manual reset of the computer to regain control. The problem comes after completing the mission titled "Under fire" in the Red hammer campaign. The program plays the cut scene following the completed mission and the intro scenes for the next mission, then freezes as discriped above. I should mention that during one of the cinema scenes there is an error message of some sort, not in a dialog box but rater in a here to fore unseen font at the top of the screen during the cinema screen. This message saying something like "whatever file not found, hit any key except number" it goes by to fast for me to catch, and it does not seem to effect the program moving on to the next cinema scene [and yes I have tried hitting any key and it does not effect either way]. When I do reboot and open the game again the completed mission has not saved. I have tried "-endmission" as well and it still freezes and doesn't save the completed mission. My history, purchased OFP Gold Edition, loaded just OFP and played it out, did not load Red Hammer disc till just before loading Resistance which I purchased and loaded just days ago. I am now working on the Red Hammer campaign under Version 1.75, I have had absolutly no problems till now. My system... Intel Pentium IV, 1.8ghz Soyo P4 Fire Dragon [i845 chipset] Award Modular Bios V6.00PG [nothing overclocked] 512mb DDR RAM Radeon 7500, 64mb DDR VRAM [T&L normally and tried 3D] C-Media CMI 8738/C3DX PCI Audio [on board] Eizo/Nano L365 LCD Display [digital to digital] Perhaps the finest and certianly the most exspensive LCD's made by the way. [better then many CRT's for gaming, when using a true digital input] OFP preferences CPU benchmark 3480 Have all up to date drivers.
Gourka 0 Posted September 1, 2002 The same problem for me. The solution to bipass this problem is to play RH with OFP 1.46 and not 1.75.
