How to select different guns/classes in the campaign

Hey, im new here, and (ofc) first thing i ask is a question. I have been playing arma oa for a while (stuff such as deathmatch, superpowers and other fun stuff with your friends), and of course dayz too. But over my time of playing, I have begun to hate the m4a1 holo GL (except when its suppressed and in dayz) because it has no zoom to attack from range, and with the underbarrel gl I have less ammo for my secondary. I do know how to switch from me (cooper) to one of the other squad members, but than i cannot control the other members. What i was wondering was if it was possible for me to be a different class other than grenader, so I can use other guns (like the M16A4 acog, DMR, etc). Thanks.
