How does Arma updates?

how do i know if i've got the latest updates for Arma 3 - does Arma automatically updates by itself when i start the game or do i have to search for an update - i read sitreps and is says 1.08 is available but can't find any link to get it.

siterep is the dev version - beta patches. you can chance to the beta version to play in steam.

for mp not the best solution, you cant join on the normal servers then.

I don't believe any patch has been released as of yet. But when it is, it should automatically update itself. If not restart steam and it should start.

If you are on stable branch (most likely you are) you'll get updates every month or so. If your on dev branch you'll get mini updates pretty much every day. Dev branch is for testing work in progress development, stable is for actually playing the game (though dev is still quite playable). You can only play with people using the same "branch" as you. Majority of MP uses Dev.

1.06 is the next stable patch to come out and is planned to come out some time later this this week. The last sitrep does mmake it kind of sound like its already released but I am pretty sure it hasn't been.

Ok - i guess i'll wait for the automatic 'official' update then.....no point going off the beaten path....there's too much of a learning curve still in this game for me.
