Can't launch ArmA3 after swapping to dev build

I swapped to Dev build to join a server and was able to join and play. Then I quit to disable some mods I'd enabled which were causing problems and since then I haven't been able to launch A3 again. It was giving me a crash error everytime, so I tried shutting down TS3 in case it's overlay was causing problems (even though I'd disabled it) and closed a load of other stuff. Then I rebooted but now it just goes to a black screen and does nothing until I press ESC, when it closes. Then I tried verifying local files which didn't make any difference.

I also tried renaming my .cfg and profile files so that A3 had to recreate them.

this just started happening to me as well, however, i am always on DEV build.

I played the game after the update last night. worked fine... launched the game several times testing mods, etc. worked fine.. turn the pc off. come back next day turn the pc on and try to play and the game will not launch. past the inital black screen.. the arma 3 logo pops up it loads the profile, mods, etc. goes to black screen and then crashes a few seconds later, back to desktop. i have tried everything from pc restart, default profile, validation, to deletion of a few files and re validation.. Its just broken....

I posted in another thread to related topic, it seems to be happening to a few people including myself. Not sure if Steam is having issues or Arma itself, but for me it crashed after addons have been initialized.

Seems it was a Steam problem. I'm in the Steam Beta and some people fixed it by opting out but I didn't do this and just received an update which fixed it for me. I think I'll opt out of the Beta now though to avoid this happening (hopefully) in future.
