bonchie 39 Posted November 7, 2013 They take cover better and maintain unit cohesiveness better. In A2 and Iron Front I'd routinely have AI teammates refuse to move, get stuck, and have to leave them 500 meters behind. I play on regular and find the enemy's accuracy to be about right. On veteran they turn into supermen with laser guns. Things that need improvement are obviously indoors ability. They are better then they used to be and actually engage well out of windows but it needs work. At more moderate distances, they should scatter into cover more often when engaged. Right now they tend to just lay down where as in CQB battles they take cover well, run behind walls if engaged, etc. I find firefights to generally be decent and drawn out like you'd find in real life. It's harder to hit them then in A2 IMO.
calin_banc 19 Posted November 7, 2013 Biggest issue is for open areas when they can spot and engage you faster. That's also due to higher graphic fidelity which means camouflage works better and it's harder for a human to recognize and attack properly an enemy, especially at hundreds of meters away, with foliage and other structures around. AI operate in a more abstract environment. It's just the same matter on MP games when some choose low settings instead of high, not due to performance, but rather to gain an visual advantage in spotting the targets. goldenfiver 11 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Biggest problem IMO, is that they don't use buildings on their own. They won't enter /use as cover/ close in on targets that are inside buildings. (for example: try shooting a couple of AI from a roof that is easily accessible. No one will close in on you, throw a grenade etc). On the other hand.. we (players) do it all the time. This makes CQB rather dull. Edited November 7, 2013 by goldenfiver
dnk 13 Posted November 8, 2013 1. They don't use buildings without being placed in one. This makes CQB dull as hell. 2. They don't move much, especially when under fire. This makes CQB dull as hell. This also makes them fish in a barrel, even when the player is on a hill engaging them in the middle of a city - they just stand around in the middle of a street (also see #1). 3. They don't use cover well. Better than before, but again their primary response, especially when in the open is: stand/crouch and shoot. (basically #2). 4. They suck at long-range engagements (#1-3). 5. They're super-accurate (why balance the 0-1 scale such that anything after 0.3 is "superhuman"?). 6. They can't do/use X feature. So, yeah, all of that hasn't been fixed. There are some definite improvements, but their general inability to do anything other than act like superaccurate fish in a barrel makes them a dull opponent.
