Major Server Problem (Causing Harm to communities)

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

Im making this thread on behalf of my community. Im a dev for a takistan Life server that is always populated (80+ players) and our server experiences a weird problem randomly (This happens randomly, it can go days without happening, or happen 6 times in 2 hours)

I can also state that a populated Takistan Server suffers from this issue too.

Our server runs fine until it a broken red chains shows up on the client and no message received until players get kicked. The server console stays up on the RDP and it shows that all players lost connection and you can close the server but the process would still be running and you have to kill it. You also cannot connect to BattlEye Rcon when this happends.

Nothing is left on the RPT file, just normal things. Server uses 38% of CPU usage and 800mb of ram.

Server Specs:

CPU: Intel Xeon CPU E3-1270

CPU Speed: 4 x 3.5 Ghz w/ 8MB Smart Cache

HyperThreading: off

Motherboard: SuperMicro X9SCM-F

Total Cores: 4 Cores + 8 Threads

RAM: 32 GB DDR3 1333 ECC

(Supports up to 32 GB RAM)

I would test with another mission (not Life) to make sure that it's not something in the mission itself causing the freeze/disconnects. Your server is more than powerful enough to handle anything Arma 2 can throw at it.

What is a bit odd is the closing of the server console does not kill the arma2 server process. Have you tried re-installing arma on the server?
