installing from the cd not downloading it all through steam Please Help :)

Hi , i have the cd but after running the install it wants to dload the whole game through steam . which is about ten days on my connection

is there a way to get the cd installed then just dload the updates please

i need it in basic english as i'm not the best on pc's thanks :)

Whatever Steam says you need to download then unfortunately you need to do it that way.

Btw, how much of a download is it? And what is the size of the install before Steam kicks in?

This is an unfortunate side-effect of the Steam update system common to most "shelf" published Steam games. Some games don't even contain all the required data on the discs and rely on the fact that the rest needs to be downloaded upon installation.

If you have a friend with a better connection, you can login to Steam using your account on his computer, install the game there and backup the files to a removable media.

i think the disk has 7 gig on it tptl steam install is 8 , it did the initial update on steam then started the game dload have seen threads where they have a work around to install the game from the disk. not to smart really selling a disk that is just a key to steam
