Arma 3 Body Armor

So I have heard multiple times that certain vests/helmets will give you armor and protect you from damage. I have been in experiences at long range where a bullet or two would bounce off my heli crew helmet or my rocket launcher. I was just wondering if wearing certain vests or helmets help protect you against damage and so on. So far I have found nothing on this topic so I figured I would post on here.

every weapon and launcher works like an armor (and it don't brake) I don't know for sure about helmets and vests

Armor isn't nearly perfectly simulated; it essentially only reduces the amount of damage done when hit. Only weapons (E.G. rocket launchers) will fully deflect rounds. Equipment that adds the most armor value are combat items like ECH helmets or plate carrier vests.
