dupan221 10 Posted September 27, 2013 Hi. This is not a serious problem but I just wonder and need help. After scenario game saving, and if there's an update of arma 3 the save file must be broken, saying can't load the save game due to incompatible version. While I've been making progress well in a long mission over 3~4 hours I saved and turned off my computer but now after updating the save file is broken again.:mad: It's already the second time for me in the mission, altis resistance. Is there anyone who has any good idea? or can I get back to the lastest version temporarily? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
dayglow 2 Posted September 27, 2013 Don't know if you regress the version, but to prevent it from happening in the future in Steam right click on Arma3 and go to properties. I'm away from my computer, but I believe one of the tabs has the option to keep the game up to date. Deselect that option so the game won't update automatically. I really don't understand why is it working like that. I thought the move to Steam would solve that, but apparently not. This is really annoying, now every update will break my save games? Jackal326 1181 Posted March 9, 2016 It happens with a LOT of games now-a-days, especially games where a lot of core data and mechanics are changed by the update. The changing of the way a game engine handles certain situations or parameters, not to mention how those things interact with each-other after an update would be almost impossible to have you carry certain files (e.g. save-games) forward. TL;DR I'm not sure its an issue that can be fixed so just deal with it. If it annoys you that much, just use the 'campaign' cheat to unlock all the missions and revert to the mission you got to before the update. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
