D_wolf 1 Posted September 5, 2013 Everytime I fly a jet I get a huge frame lag. I mean is this normal, shouldn't the frames actually increase when you fly? Because the further you are from the ground, the less detail is rendered. Does the view distance increase when flying? No. So why does this happen? Could it be the high speed of the jet and my computers incapability to keep up with the constant loading of terrain and objects? Also did anyone notice that the SUV was inspired by the BMW X6? :P
RushHour 11 Posted September 5, 2013 Same here. Just limit the damage by turning everything down and hope it´s just the DEV build that has devolved a little bit in the FPS department. I think the actual release build will run more stable and better fps.

xendance 3 Posted September 5, 2013 I would guess it's because the engine is trying to stream in the texture data for the terrain as you're flying over it. You're probably going so fast that the engine can't finish loading the previous set of textures by the time you've moved to a new area that needs its textures loaded too. So it gets swamped. Note that I'm just guessing, I don't know how the engine works :P
RushHour 11 Posted September 5, 2013 I just remembered seeing in a video showcasing the CAS that one of the guys commentating said "fly around the map first to decrease the lag" or something along those lines. Could be worth testing. It might have been a chopper they were in but nonetheless, worth a try.
