Is there a range limit for guided rocket?

I shot four PCML missiles perfectly locked on enemy vehicles 1.2km away on the hill, all four missed hitting the ground below the vehicles. Is it because it was out of range or a glitch?

The PCML is essentially the NLAW, which has a max range of 800 (600?) meters.

Not sure what the ingame parameters are.
