fabio_chavez 103 Posted August 28, 2013 a while ago i noticed that when i am driving or flying, i get inconsitent framerates in a very specific way. it not usual stuttering but a kind of wobbling that feels like somebody is slightly increasing and decreasing the replayspeed of a video periodically. It also doesnt matter if the fps are high or low, i can have around 40-50 fps and its still very noticeable. while driving through altis yesterday, i noticed that the problem does not occur in the desert area at all... 100% even framerate. The problem occurs again as soon as i reach terrain with vegetation or buildings, therefore i guess it might be somehow caused by lod switching, like the fps are slightly droping evertime a new bunch of objects get into lodswitch range.... anyone knows something about the specific cause of this phenomenon in particular? CPU too old? ram too slow/small? how can i get rid of it? specs: Intel [email protected] oc: 3.6@ghz quadcore (no hyperthreading) 8 mb cache, Radeon HD 6970 oc, 4gb DDR2 1066, SSD settings: 1920x1080 (+120% 3d res), PP off, AA off, 1000m viewdistance, most stuff on ultra or very high, object detail sometimes on high sometimes on ultra. ric 1 Posted August 28, 2013 open up resource monitor and have it running behind the game and when all the performce issues begin have a look at the CPU tab, my guess is that the CPU usage is pinned @ %100 which means of course that your CPU is the bottleneck :(
fabio_chavez 103 Posted August 28, 2013 according to msi afterburner the cpu is not pinned at 100%, it kind of IS the bottleneck anyway but i wonder if that is also the explaination for this specific problem.
