MizykeCappa 10 Posted August 11, 2013 Hi, So this has been happening to me multiple times over the last 4 months and somehow i fixed it before but im not sure how. I think it has something to do with battleye. anyways let me get to the point and tell you my specs [specs] g1 Sniper 3 Mobo ati radeon 7950 iceqx2 i7-3770k 16gb kingston ram 1600mhz 850Wtt corsair hx series [Problem] Ok, so i can start my arma 2 and arma 2 OA no problem this is not an issue. I can also play single player and start an internet server, But as soon as i try to connect to any server it loads me in and says battleye initialized and it says im connecting and about 2 seconds later it just completely freezes or when i make a server as soon as somebody else connects it does the same, i dont even get to downloading the mission file or even clicking ok to join. at this point i can still move my cursor and sometimes even hear people talking in global. but when i ctrl+alt+del and go on my task manager it says the program is not responsive, which then i just end the process. I find it weird as if i launch dayz commander and play with 6 i can still join servers on dayz and such no problem but as soon as i launch arma from steam it does not work. [Things i've Tried] Ive deleted both arma2 and arma2 OA and ALL there files. even in %Appdata% and re installed (Twice -.-) Verified game cache updated arma 2 with dayz commander (note, when i tried to update it said wrong CD key but still installed my arma patch) uninstalled battleye and reinstalled through BEsetup (which did not work) then proceeded to overwrite the dll files from battleye.com/download on both games deleted all my arma 2 registry keys Ran steam as administrator Ran both games as administrator and yet nothing....... its weird as 2 nights ago i was sitting on arma. this is very frustrating and i have spent many hours trying to find out this issue and troubleshoot it but the more i sit here and watch everything i do not work the more i want to just completely delete arma and be done with the game. the way i see it the game has so many damn bugs and things that go wrong its not even worth the purchase and i am very unhappy that it is this unstable. if anyone can help me with this issue it will be greatly appreciated as i would love to get back onto wasteland and RP very soon as the game is addictive and has the right idea but dumb problems like these turn me away from it sometimes. id rather just start the game and play and not have to deal with stupid game issues that the mod's and testers should have fixed a very long time ago. anyways any help would be much appreciated and hopefully i can find a fix to this mess. orcinus 121 Posted August 16, 2013 Well maybe (like me) they are unable to offer specific help (I have no MP experience whatsoever). Also, apart from many people's attention being wholly focussed on A3, in much of the Northern hemisphere it's the middle of the peak holiday period. I appreciate it's frustrating, however ranting about the game and complaining won't endear you to forum members. Have you looked in the RPT? Checked the Windows logs (Application, System, GPU)? Any error /warning messages coincident with the problem can help identify the cause(s). Other things to try: If you have some fancy mouse s/w, disable it and use the generic driver(s) in Windows. Turn off all inessential services - see the guides on blackviper.com, or use Gamebooster. Run a full scan with your AV after updating the database. Get Malwarebytes' MBAM, launch it using the "Chameleon" tool, let it update then run a full scan after the initial quick scan finishes. Clean any nasties found before doing anything else. Run a full file system check & surface scan on all your HDDs. If you have Win 7 / Win 8 type "sfc/scannow" which will run the file systeem check utility, If Windows finds any corrupted files it will replace them from local backups if possible, otherwise you will need to insert the full installation disk. Also check that your drivers are up-to-date. For an HD7950 on Win 7 64 / Win 8 64 that's currently Catalyst 13.4. Check the BIOS settings are correct. Check that none of your CPU cores are being 'parked' by Windows (open the resource monitor & look at the CPU graphs). Try logging on to a server that does not require either mods or the beta - you should never start troubleshooting with the beta or mods loaded, you need to know if the vanilla game is functioning properly. If it is not, there is no point in adding mods or betas into the stew.
