Ammunition Types

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I think this is the correct forum! Haven't really been here before :D

Basically, I couldn't find any answers on the only two threads I found pertaining to making new ammunition types. So, I'm asking now, for ArmA 3, is there any way at all to modify and/or include one's own ammo types for weaponry such as rifles, static weapons (artillery and the likes), and vehicles? If so, does anyone know how to or is able to give an example? Even a file where they are kept would be handy, as right now I've found absolutely squat on this topic.

Regards,

yes and no.

Its very easy to make new ammo, for instance a 7.62 high explosive round, but if you want a default rifle to fire it. You need to overwrite its magazine defintions (that the rifle use: bis_standard_762mag and Comp_uter_762highexplosivemag) which means you making a mod.

For vehicles its however farily easy to make a new weapon/new magazine without overwriting, for example more bombs to airplanes.

You need to install elitness and unpack the:

steamapps\common\ArmA 3\addons\weapons.pbo (at the office now, so don't know the correct paths, but similiar).

Once unpacked, again use elitness, go into the folder and look into the config.bin.

and there should be tons on this topic.. but I will try find the time to make a small vehicle weapons config addon tutorial.

Hello,

Thanks GranQ for the reply. Something like that would be just what I meant, I don't want to be adding new weapons and whatnot in, just making vanilla use more ammo types.

I'll do what you said, and I very much appreciate your help - a tutorial would be great!

Regards

Harry
