MadDog515 10 Posted June 26, 2013 Hey All, I am new to Arma and need some help. I have been playing FPS for years but nothing has prepared me for Arma. I have been playing some of the single player on alpha and have tried to get into some multi player games but have not had any success. I have managed to sign on to a few multiplayer servers but once there I am totally lost. Usually there are lots of other players milling around or I am out somewhere alone and just seem to run endlessly. How do I find out what a mission is, where the other players are located, and what the hell I am supposed to be doing? I am 56 years old and would like to find servers to play on where there are other older or more serious players. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
five_seven5-7 56 Posted June 27, 2013 Try to be near the hexagon players (hexagon with stripes indicates your team leader), that´s means their are from your team. Talk with them on the group channel, respect all of them, try to not make friendly-fire and have fun. Try to help each other through suppressive fire, healing, etc ... Maio 293 Posted June 27, 2013 Hey, Welcome to the community :) It can be a little daunting at first when you open up a MP game, seeing as most of the servers are public and there is no chain of command most of the time. What you need to do is find yourself a squad/clan to play with as that is the best way to experience Arma. There are all sorts of squads raging from casual and role players, all the way to realism units. Here is the forum section dedicated to the above: http://forums.bistudio.com/forumdisplay.php?168-ARMA-3-BETA-SQUADS-AND-FANPAGES You can also add me on steam and I can show you a thing or two if our free time schedules coincide. This thread will now receive a honorable discharge.
